In 2012, after two releases and five years together, Bad Habitat ambitiously released their debut full length album, “Scissor Tree”. Intended as the first chapter in a scissors, paper, rock themed trilogy of albums, it represented the group’s first real foray into taking their artistry seriously. The following year, they followed it up with the underground classic, “Paper People”. Anchored by the party anthem Drunk and Loud, and constructed around a combination of their previously displayed lyrical prowess mixed with blue collar schemes and classic rock samples, that album paved the way for a sonic evolution within the group, and exposed the masses to a glimpse of their crossover potential. Now, on the eve of their 10 year anniversary together, Bad Habitat is set to release the long awaited final chapter of what they refer to within the group as the “RoShamBo Trilogy”, aptly titled “Rock Speakers”.

Representing the completion of a full circle loop, “Rock Speakers” pays homage to the sounds of Bad Habitat’s early releases while embracing the sounds and attitude they have come to be known for along the way. Living up to it’s name, “Rock Speakers” employs samples primarily culled from the best eras and niches in the history of modern rock music, from classic 80’s nu wave, to modern pop and alternative, with healthy doses everything in between, all deftly combined with their signature style of underclass themes, aggressive rhymes and nimble syllable play.

Boasting features from underground heavyweights Abstract Rude (Rhymesayers/Project Blowed), XPerience (Step Cousins w/ Macklemore), and the Chicharones (Sleep of Oldominion and Josh Martinez), as well as local work horses Serge Severe, ThatKidCry, and Elton Cray, “Rock Speakers” is 17 brand new songs recorded over the course of the last two years, compiled into a part casual, part nostalgic, and completely cataclysmic middle finger to the maturity Bad Habitat has finally achieved.
